A DOCUMENTARY SERIES ON HOW CHILDREN CAN HELP RECYCLING AT HOME.

This documentary told the stories of 2 different children, each one recycling in their own way. It was decided early on in the project that though the overall documentary was going to have a defined style, each story would have an individual art direction.

A total of 7 animations were delivered for this project.

Earth Squad was directed by Julia Llanos and Rosaura Lezama.

Noah The Maker

Noah’s story focused mainly on ways to recycle cardboard. Using just a few simple tools and his imagination Noah was able to create amazing toys and props which he used to film his own action movie. These figures where then recreated for the animated pieces.

Mafe’s Fashion Show

Mafe uses cloth pieces from old clothes to recreate new styles and make fashionable clothes. Working closely with her father and inspired by her black cat, Mafe makes magic out of nothing, while teaching an important lesson on the importance of recycling.

A peak behind the curtain

The real challenge here was running against the clock. With 7 animations ranging from 40 seconds to 1 minute of duration and tough to manage 4K renders, the workflow had to be organized and methodical from day one so we could hit the delivery dates for rough, fine and final cut.
